Slovak - Austrian Research and Development Cooperation: Implementation of nanometrological process management model into cutting tool edge assesment in precision machining

2013-2015
The Project targets quality control of tool’s cutting parts when precision machining. Objectives of the project are centered on application procedures from both metrology and nanometrology being used for cutting tool edges. Application procedures are planned to be used for production of precision holes when drilling as well as for milling by ball end milling cutters when producing free form surfaces. Project is aimed to elaborate methodology of measurement and control of active parts at metal cutting tools as edge radii, rounding of edges, coating thickness as well as entire tool edge sharpness. Measurements of profiles and edge rounding are assumed definite directions when verifying proposed methodology. As a part of verifying, experimental procedures are assumed to be carried out in order to identify such aspects as mechanisms of machined surface formation, change at active parts of tool edge due to gradual tool wear as well as inaccuracy of machined surfaces.

Austria – Czech Republic research project: Development of cooperation in the field of high—precision mechanical engineering

The main objective of this project is the resource utilization of both university institutes at the Vienna University of Technology  and Brno University of Technology to develop a long term cooperation in
education and research. The focus of this cooperation is in the accurate measurement, verification and control in the field of energy-efficient production. Another goal is to get through common use of the most
modern instruments of both university institutes and laboratories, to improve the conditions for the training of graduate students both for industrial use as well as for further academic work.

Intelligent Digital System for a Personnel Certification Body

The Department  "Interchangeable Manufacturing and Industrial Metrology" at the Institute for Production Engineering and Laser Technology of the Vienna University of Technology, a digital quality management system created according to the international quality standards. The aim of this project is to establish a model for personnel certification body at the TU-AuM according to EN ISO / IEC 17024, which will be designed for object-oriented management system using the iGrafx suite of tools and dashboard Central.

Austria - Slovakia research project: Statistical analysis in support of technology development and evaluation of measurement

The Department  "Interchangeable Manufacturing and Industrial Metrology" at the Institute for Production Engineering and Laser Technology of the Vienna University of Technology will create acceptance test cases in the INTACT tool language according to common quality standards. The test case headers provided by the principal and transformed by the Vienna University of Technology in accordance with the quality standards in a special format and versioned.

Form and surface accuracy investigations of dental implants

2011 - 2012

In contrast to conventional methods an individual image of the tooth root of the patient will be modeled with this approach using intelligent manufacturing. The success of this method makes high demands on the quality of the material processing. The metrological examinations should specify the surface texture of the implant-produced structures in more detail. For this necessary highly accurate measurements and evaluations in accordance with international applicable standards. The task of the project  is to examine the surface quality of man-made zirconium oxide implants with spatially arranged functional surfaces. Increasingly ever higher demands are made
regarding the quality of dental implants.

Exoskeleton for support of legs movement (low cost), driven by PushMePushYou joint actuators and controlled by non-invasive electroencephalographic signals.

2011 - 2013
The objective of the project is the development of knowledge and technology for the production of exoskeleton, which allows the movement of  legs to support  sick or severely disabled patients. Starting from the mechanical performance of the joint drive system, a complete unit exoskeleton to be developed which is controlled by non-invasive electroencephalographic signals. This means the target is a low cost rehabilitation unit for people with physical disabilities.

Leonardo da Vinci "Pilot Project A/01/B/F/PP-124.137 together with TUs and Universities in France (F), Slovakia (SK), NIederlande (NL), Huddersfield (UK), Coordination by TU-Wien (together with Außeninstitut), 2003 to 2006.

2004 to 2005: financing a most modern high technology CNC control and computer system for the high accuracy coordinate measuring instrument of the Dept.’s laboratory.
